BOUNDLESS VOYAGE

Disabled Veterans Sailing the World ARC Rally 2028

In 2028, a remarkable crew will set sail to circumnavigate the globe—26,000 nautical miles across the world’s most demanding oceans—as part of the World ARC Rally.

They are not professional sailors.

They are not defined by limitations.

They are disabled veterans—on a new mission.

A Mission Beyond the Horizon

After serving their country under the most extreme conditions, these men and women have faced a different kind of battle at home—recovering from injury, redefining identity, and rebuilding purpose.

This voyage is not an escape.

It is a continuation of service.

Aboard a fully equipped blue-water yacht, this crew will operate as a team—just as they did in uniform. Every role matters. Every mile is earned. Every challenge is met together.

Why This Matters

Each year, thousands of veterans in the United States struggle with isolation, loss of purpose, and the invisible wounds of service.

This expedition is designed to:

  • Restore camaraderie through shared mission and teamwork

  • Rebuild confidence in a demanding, real-world environment

  • Raise awareness for veteran mental health and support systems

  • Inspire others by demonstrating what is still possible

This is not just about sailing around the world.
It’s about showing that the mission continues.

STANDING THE WATCH

Understanding & Preventing Veteran Suicide in the United States

The Reality We Must Face

Each year, thousands of U.S. veterans die by suicide—more than 6,000 annually, or roughly 17–18 lives every day.

These are not just numbers.
They are fathers, mothers, teammates, leaders—people who once stood ready to serve, and now need support at home.

Why It Happens

There is no single cause. Veteran suicide is often the result of overlapping challenges:

  • Loss of identity and purpose after military service

  • Isolation from the camaraderie of unit life

  • Invisible wounds, including trauma and stress

  • Physical injuries and chronic pain

  • Difficulty transitioning to civilian careers and communities

For many, the hardest battle begins after service ends

What Makes Veterans Different

Veterans are trained to be resilient, mission-focused, and self-reliant. These strengths, while powerful, can also make it harder to ask for help.

  • A culture of toughness can discourage vulnerability

  • Leadership roles can create pressure to “handle it alone”

  • Transitioning away from structured environments can feel disorienting

Understanding this context is critical to providing meaningful support.

What Helps

Progress is possible—and happening. Effective support includes:

  • Connection & community – rebuilding a sense of team

  • Purpose-driven engagement – meaningful work and mission

  • Accessible mental health care – early, consistent support

  • Peer support networks – veterans helping veterans

  • Family & community awareness – recognizing warning signs

Small interventions, at the right time, can save lives.

You Can Make a Difference

  • Reach out to veterans in your life—connection matters

  • Listen without judgment

  • Encourage support from trusted professionals or peers
